The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has announced an increase in NHIS tariffs for medicines and services.
According to a statement issued by the Authority on Wednesday, February 1, an increase in medicinal products as well as medical services is required due to an increase in active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
As a result, in addition to the 30% marginal increase imposed by NHIA, the price of framework medicines will face a 50% increase.
Service tariffs will increase by 10%, while non-framework medicines will increase by 20%.

According to the statement, new medications such as Artemether Injection 80 mg/mL and Levofloxacin Infusion 500 mg/mL will now be included on the NHIA’s list of medicines and will be restored by the National Health Insurance Scheme.
