Applications for the 2023 FAO Internship Program are now being accepted. More than 130 nations are eligible to apply for the FAO internship. IELTS is not required to apply for this paid internship.
A stipend will be paid to all interns throughout the duration of the internship programme. The duration of the internship is between 3 and 11 months.
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is an international organisation that strives to eliminate hunger while also improving nutrition and food security.
Any applicant, undergraduate or postgraduate degree students, or recent graduates, is encouraged to apply for the FAO Internship Program. You will gain a better understanding of FAO’s work through the internship.

Internship Location
The FAO headquarters is in Rome, Italy. So, most of the internship positions are in Italy. But there are other locations too where you can do an internship.
Who can Apply?
Male and female applicants are both welcome to apply.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Candidates must be nationals of FAO Members.
- Education: Candidates with Bachelors, Masters, PhD applicants can apply, or those who are graduated.
- Languages: IELTS is not required.
- Age: Aged between 21 and 30 at the start of their internship.
- Family relation: candidates with family members (defined as brother, sister, mother, or father) employed by FAO under any type of contract are not eligible for the Internship Programme.

Financial Coverage
The FAO Support all interns. The benefits are:
- FAO internship Salary: Interns will receive a stipend in a local currency not exceeding US$ 700 per month.
- Medical coverage related to service-incurred is provided.
- The duration of the FAO Internship assignment is between 3 and 11 months.

Apply to the “Call for Expression of Interest”, which is published on our career portal.
Interested candidates should apply online through the career portal enclosing a motivation letter and evidence of attendance at a recognized University.
Only selected candidates will be contacted.
Candidates who are not selected before the closing date and wish to be continuously considered for an assignment are requested to re-apply to the new Calls.
