NSMQ 2023 Today: Day Three Fixtures of One-Eighth Stage

On the second day of the One-Eighth Stage, which took place yesterday, we witnessed thrilling contests. Many of the seeded schools demonstrated why they do not have to start the competition from the preliminary stages.

We witnessed schools such as Prempeh College, Mawuli Senior High School, Opoku Ware School, Abetifi Presby Senior High School, Pope John Seminary, Osei Tutu Senior High School, and St. John’s School successfully advancing to the quarter-final stage of the competition.

The day began with an electrifying performance from Opoku Ware School, as they secured a resounding victory by defeating both Tamale Islamic Science Senior High School and Nifa Senior High School.

The day witnessed very tough contests, and in many cases, the winners were separated by a tiebreaker. St. James Seminary Senior High School showcased their prowess as the hope of the Bono region in the NSMQ. They faced a challenging contest against Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Girls Senior High School but emerged victorious by correctly answering the tiebreaker question.

Pope John Minor Seminary Senior High School emerged as the top scorer of the day, winning their contest with an impressive 56 points. They competed against Simms Senior High School, a finalist in the Ashanti Regional Championship, and Sunyani Senior High School

Today, Friday, October 13, 2023, marks the third and final day of the one-eighth contest in this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ)
