Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

The hired candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Plan and manage logistics operation liaising with internal team and relevant service providers.
  • Liaise with the relevant leads on procuring services and products relevant to the company’s activities.

  • Generate and maintain vendor list for all clients and service providers and also inform management and end-users of any updates and changes
  • Ensures that all procurement procedures are followed and executed in a professional manner.
  • Prepares standard purchasing forms, including bid requests, material requisitions, purchase orders, change orders, logs, reports, and trends.
  • Monitor all existing and prospective markets in Europe, North America, and the Middle East to identify appropriate business opportunities
  • Ensure all completed orders are delivered on time while serving as a contact for the client (s) in question.
  • Ensure products are shipped appropriately to ensure quality of goods during transportation.
  • Take responsibility for accuracy of labelling to ensure the right finished goods reach correct customers at the expected time.
  • Plan, manage, and control all logistics inputs to ensure zero shortages.
  • Ensure compliance with export regulations, customs regulations, and legal requirement for shipping goods.
  • Manage and resolve problems concerning logistics systems, transport, exports, or custom issues.
  • Ensure the integrity of all documentation accuracy and submission deadline.
  • Ensure the integrity of inventory (finished goods and logistics inputs) accuracy and manage export sales within the company’s record systems.
  • Create and implement best practices of logistics principles, policies, and processes to improve operational and financial performance.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high-risk performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
  • Work with colleagues to set, execute and assess departmental objectives/KPI

Required Skills or Experience

Academic and career:

  • At least a bachelors in Supply Chain Management or related field(s)
  • At least five (5) years of working experience in the trade and exports sector.
  • At least five (5) years working in food export sector. ***
  • The candidate must have experience with import and export regulations, laws, and systems***
  • The candidate must have a strong network of service providers or industry network relevant to imports and exports. ***
  • The candidate must have verifiable experience and training in international quality standards particularly for the food sector- specifically, HACCP, BRCGS, and IFS (candidates without this experience will automatically be disqualified). ***
  • The candidate must embody an entrepreneurial spirit and experience in building sustainable entities.
