Job Purpose:

The Marine Engineer will provide onshore support for FPSO marine operations and provide support to the offshore Marine Superintendent, Engine Room Supervisor/team and the offshore execution Lead to plan, execute and record the planned maintenance and inspections activities. They will also:

Ensure that the marine inspection activities are adequately entered into the CMMS, in line with CLASS requirements and aligned with the Integrity Activity Plan (IAP)

Issue Workpacks to plan and execute repair activities
Coordinate the contractors in charge of preventive and corrective activities to ensure safe and smooth execution offshore and to drive cost optimizations.
Provide technical support for day to day Marine department requirements.
The incumbent is expected to contribute to a positive working environment, with a continued commitment to safety, to assist the Offshore marine team to efficiently plan and execute FPSO activities whilst ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.

Criteria:

A bachelor’s degree or tertiary equivalent qualification in Marine Engineering
+5 years industry experience in a Marine Engineering preferably within the FPSO operations environment.
Marine Engineering or Marine Architect experience with Tanker/FPSO inspection and repair knowledge.

Offshore experience
Strong personal and interpersonal skills, culturally aware with experience of working with diverse workforce.
Track record of analysis capability and experience covering typical ships structures in the fields of strength, fatigue and rule assessments.
Working knowledge of the ship classification process and the associated statutory survey requirements.
Experience of in service repair activities.
Proven capability and experience in leadership and management of third party contactors and junior team members.
Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrates ability to work independently and a high level of analytical ability to identify and resolve non-recurring problems.
