As part of their zeal and celebration of hall week, residents of the hall marched to nearby halls including Africa Hall while chanting Jama songs.

They were attacked by Unity Hall, a rival hall, under the pretext of an invasion of territory as they were making their way to Africa Hall.

The two foes then started hurling stones at one another. An alliance hall from the University of Cape Coast (UCC) who had come to support their hall festival, Casely Hayford Hall (Caseford), provided help to University Hall(Katanga) in the battle.

As Katanga pursued them with stones and concrete blocks after the Conti residents had completed their stones, they made the decision to flee back to the hall and seek refuge.
Residents of Katanga vandalized and destroyed vehicles and other property in front of Unity Hall.
