The KNUST Off-Campus Students’ Accommodation Support System (KOSASS) has classified all private hostels and homestels around KNUST into five categories based on location, available facilities, utilities, and services provided.
As listed by KOSASS, these are the five classes of private hostels and homestels around KNUST;

Although location, or the distance to campus, was important in the us classification, the facilities and services offered also had a significant impact. That is why some hostels that are close to campus with minimum facilities could not make it to the class A category.

When considering the location, for example, the proximity to the roadside and the road system that connects to the hostel were taken into account in addition to the hostel’s distance from the university.

1. LIENDA VILLE HOSTEL
This ultramodern hostel was completed in March 2022. It is located at Afrifa Junction, Ayeduase, just about 3 minutes’ drive from the Ayeduase Gate, KNUST. The rooms are spacious and have all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay.
Their gorgeous rooms come with an air conditioner, a wardrobe, a refrigerator, a comfortable bed, a television (with access to Netflix and DSTV, etc.), and a top-notch kitchen with kitchen cabinets and shelves. They have only one in-one and two in-one rooms available.
Other Facilities Available and Services provided include: Gym, Lift, Stand-by Generator, Security Personnel, CCTV Cameras, Cleaners.
2. WAGYINGO HOSTEL
This hostel has fast become a favourite among KNUST students. Wagyingo hostel is a relatively new hostel in the Ayeduase neighbourhood, but many people have made it their new home.
The hostel is at about a 5-minute walk from KNUST’s Ayeduase entrance. The rooms are big and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. All their exquisite rooms come with an air conditioner, a wardrobe, a refrigerator, a comfortable bed, and a television.

3. VICTORY TOWERS HOSTEL
This hostel is the closest to the campus of all the Class A hostels. The KNUST Ayeduase gate is roughly a 3-minute walk away. The rooms are big and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. All their superb rooms come with an air conditioner, a wardrobe, a refrigerator, a comfortable bed, and a television.
There are two types of rooms available: regular and executive rooms. They offer regular and executive one-in-one, two-in-one, and three-in-one rooms.
A bank is located just in front of the hostel (Access Bank) to aid your transactional needs.

4. DR. NAP ARTHUR BLOCK
Dr. Nap Arthur Block Hostel Apartment may be reached by foot from Ayeduase Gate in about 7 minutes from its location at Splendor Hostel Junction, opposite the Ayeduase Market.
With a large, modern kitchen, a tastefully furnished hall, a sizable balcony, and a sizable parking space, this hostel is more like an apartment. The air conditioning is present in every room.
They offer top-notch customer service. All of your needs are right outside your door, making their location ideal. Their room prices for the 2023 academic year are: one-in-one is GH 10,500; two-in-one is GH 9000/9500.

5. St Teresa’s Hostel
St. Teresa’s Hostel is located near Engineering Gate, approximately a 5-minute walk from the College of Engineering. If you are on the fifth story or higher, you can see the entire Ayeduase neighbourhood as well as the beautiful KNUST surroundings.
The St. Theresa’s Hostel charges GH 16,000, which is equivalent to 1,090,396.46 Naira for a single bed space, GH 8,000 for a double, GH 6,500 for a triple, and GH 5,500 for a quadruple. It is now the most expensive university hostel in Africa.
The hostel is fully equipped with everything a luxurious hostel needs to offer. Each room features a refrigerator, air conditioner, and television that are all branded with the hostel’s name. A contemporary kitchen, a luxurious bathroom with a water heater, WiFi, an elevator, and a Netflix subscription are also included.
6. La Casa Maria
La Casa Maria Hostel is located in Boadi, close to the medical school, and it is about a 5-minute drive to campus.
It has the following facilities: Water Heater, TV Room, Internet, Refrigerators, Air Conditioner, Security Personnel, Generator, Study Room, CCTV cameras, and Laundry service. Two-in-one rooms range between GHS 5500 and 6700.
