About the Company
Carers in Hertfordshire, a countywide charity founded by carers in 1995, has been a trusted name in caregiving for nearly three decades. We became a charitable company limited by guarantee in 2000, and are proud members of Carers UK and the National Council of Voluntary Organisations.
Our charity is governed by a dedicated Board of Trustees, with at least 50% of its members being carers themselves. Our mission is to provide essential information, advice, and support to carers, advocate for their involvement in service planning, and ensure their voices are heard.
We achieve these goals through strategic planning, development initiatives, and direct service delivery. With a skilled workforce of 124 staff members and around 200 volunteers, we operate from Hertford and Borehamwood, delivering crucial services to communities across Hertfordshire.
Our services include one-to-one and group-based support, information, and problem-solving assistance. We also offer platforms for carers to influence service improvements. Collaboration with various voluntary and statutory organizations enhances our ability to deliver carer-focused services effectively.
Carers in Hertfordshire is also at the forefront of specialized projects addressing unique caregiving challenges. We receive core funding from Hertfordshire County Council, the NHS in Hertfordshire (Herts and West Essex Integrated Care Board), and additional support from donations and charitable trusts.
If you’re ready to make a difference, join us today and become a vital part of our mission to support carers and those they care for.
