An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the busy Imaging Department at Good Hope and Solihull hospital as an Office Manager. We are seeking an individual with experience in working within an office environment and who are keen to develop their skills and experience.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the Medical Secretaries and the Clerical and Administrative Team.

Salary: £28,407-£34,581 per year

Responsibilities

  • The Office Manager will work directly under the line management of the Operations Manager.
  • The post holder will ensure that all Inpatient and Outpatient Waiting Lists for the Imaging directorate are managed accordingly, adhering to NHS Diagnostics Waiting Times and internal Trust targets, ensuring that appointment slots are fully booked and utilised accordingly.
  • The post holder will supervise the medical secretaries and administration team with responsibility to plan and organize rosters, annual leave, work allocation and appraisals.
  • The post holder will be expected to use their initiative whilst working in a high profile and busy environment and to actively look for opportunities to explore improved ways of working in order to enhance the quality and efficiency of the imaging service provided.
  • The post holder will have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, will possess competent communication skills, and be computer literate in MS packages.
  • The workload will be varied and can be challenging, however being able to multitask in an efficient manner whilst maintaining a caring and helpful attitude underpins everything you do – and means making a difference to your team and to the patients who rely on us for their care.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration or relevant subject or equivalent experience and training
  • Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience
  • Experience of working in an Administrative role with a proven track record of problem solving and managing a team of staff
  • Experience of managing complex diaries using own judgement when dealing with conflicting appointments and priorities
  • High proficiency of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Experience of working in a busy environment working independently and exercising judgment and decision making skills
  • Experience of using IT systems
  • Experience of working in Healthcare
  • Excellent communication / customer care skills both written and verbal demonstrating sympathy and compassion
  • Excellent keyboard / IT skills ensuring accuracy
