UK Visa Sponsorship Job: Research Assistant at University of Edinburgh

A position for a Research Assistant is open in our newly established research group at the Institute of Genetics and Cancer (IGC) in Edinburgh, which focuses on investigating the role of Chromatin Regulators in Cancer. Combining RNA sequencing, genome profiling, biochemistry, and microscopy techniques, our lab aims to unravel the mechanisms behind Fusion-Driven Sarcoma. Our goal is to enhance understanding of cancer’s early development stages and the fundamental aspects of genome regulation.

The successful applicant will be a key player in the lab, providing support for experiments, managing lab operations, and offering training to new team members, positioning the candidate at the heart of our research efforts.

This full-time position (35 hours per week) is available with the flexibility to accommodate part-time (80%) and various working patterns. Initially offered for 2 years, there is potential for extension.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Be motivated, responsible and organised.
  • BSc in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or a related subject
  • Experienced with cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques.

  • Have good communication skills and ability to document work.
