Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
The hired candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Plan and organize production schedules
- Monitor production activities and adjust schedules for on-time delivery.
- Ensure that final product meets quality standards and customer specifications.
- Determining quality control standards
- Estimate costs and prepare budgets
- Analyse budgets and continuously control production costs and identify/rectify waste measures.
- Decide on and order the resources that are required and ensure stock levels remain adequate
- Organising the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
- Manage and support Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) management initiatives and objectives
- Evaluate and ensure compliance with manufacturing plant’s safety procedures and standards.
- Handle logistics, warehousing and stock of raw materials used in production
- Co-manage all teams within production department (contracts/leave/pay)
- Suggest process improvements to enhance production quality and capacity.
- Review worker performance and identify training needs
- Investigate production issues and develop resolutions.
- Recommend cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
- Any other applicable duty assigned to you by your superiors.

Required Skills or Experience
- At least a bachelors in Food Science, Food Processing or related field
- At least seven (7) years of working experience in the food processing sector.
- At least 5 years working in the dried fruits sector (candidates without this experience will automatically be disqualified). ***
- The candidate must have experience with the following fruits- mango, pineapple, bananas, coconut, and papaya. (Candidates without this experience will automatically be disqualified). ***
- The candidate must have verifiable experience and training in food processing standards- specifically, HACCP, BRCGS, and IFS (candidates without this experience will automatically be disqualified). ***
- The candidate must have technical experience in the operation of dryers and boilers.
- The candidate must embody an entrepreneurial spirit and experience in building sustainable entities.

- Proven track record in food processing and stock management.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget.

- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to deliver direction and motivation in an effective manner at all levels.
