PROJECT SUMMARY
The Enabling Farmers for Agricultural Transformation (EFAT) Project, led by Winrock International and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), strengthens agricultural extension and advisory services and systems (EAS) as a pathway to boosting agricultural productivity among smallholder farmers and helping them diversify their livelihoods and strengthen their resilience in the face of adverse climate conditions.
Winrock International is implementing the Accelerated Dissemination of Soil Improvement Practices (ADSIP) Project in Northern Ghana. ADSIP objectives are to work with existing project/programs to accelerate the dissemination of soil improvement practices and strengthen the capacity of local service providers to use different extension and advisory and communication methods and channels
Driving Duties
- Safely drive employees, volunteers, and Winrock International partners in respect of traffic rules and according to the program’s schedule and administrative guidelines.
- Timely collection and delivery of mails, documents and other items on behalf of the program

- Drive personnel on their official travel and work duties.
- Collect and welcome consultants, volunteers and official visitors from the airport.
- Operate vehicle in strict compliance with the Winrock International policy manual
- Responsible for the vehicle documents and their good condition.
- Perform preventative and regular maintenance on vehicle and report to the administration any major damage or mechanical failure.
- Keep vehicle clean and maintained at all times
- Maintain mileage and fuel logs on a daily basis and report any information related to the maintenance of the vehicle.
- Inspect vehicle trunk.
- Inspect and prepare vehicle prior to missions in order to be ready on time.
- Prepare additional material pertaining to official travels (fuel, stickers, flags, tools, medical kit).
- Participate in the loading and unloading of the vehicle

Required Skills or Experience
- At least 2 years’ experience working as a driver
- Excellent driving record and a valid driver’s license
- Minimum education requirement: secondary school education
- Knowledge of NGOs and their way of working
- Ability to work as a team
- Practical knowledge of car mechanics
- Good communication skills
- Punctuality
- Adaptability
- Good knowledge of rural areas
- Good oral and written skills; English is an asset
- Excellent listening skills
