Job Purpose

The incumbent will support the management of the company fleet and transportation services to ensure CNML interests are well managed. This will include ensuring efficient utilisation and management of the pool vehicles and the execution of planned and corrective maintenance for the entire fleet.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage company fleet by ensuring adherence to Vehicle Management and Usage Policy. This includes liaising with the required service providers, mechanics and/or technicians to ensure effective servicing and maintenance of all required vehicles.
  • Allocate pool vehicles per company procedure and ensure Vehicle Removal Authorization and return procedures are fully adhered to.
  • Receive all queries and complaints relating to CNML fleet, collate data on prestart inspection sheets and coordinate with user departments to plan and schedule fleet maintenance.
  • Conduct periodic evaluations and assessments on all fleets and submit reports to management on fleet performance and redundancy.
  • Review the vehicle asset register and ensure vehicles are in full compliance with insurance and roadworthy renewal.

  • Conduct quarterly inspections with other stakeholders to ensure vehicles are in full compliance with all safety and legal requirements.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders and statutory bodies such as the DVLA, Road Safety Commission, etc. to ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements on transport/ fleet. This includes liaising with and supervising transport service providers in ensuring efficiency and compliance in the delivery of scope of work.
  • Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly, and half-yearly reports on e.g., maintenance service costs.
  • Develop Monthly fuel consumption rate for all equipment and vehicles; verify accuracy of invoice data and other information prior to processing.
  • Performs any other related duties based on the exigencies of the project/ Company as assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Skills or Experience

Minimum qualification (s)

  • Degree/Higher National Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Valid Ghanaian Driver’s License (minimum license B).

Recommended:

Experience

  • 5 years of progressive working experience in Fleet or Transport Management and Maintenance.
  • Experience in Fleet Management Software and Fleet Tracking system.
  • Demonstrated previous adherence and maximum commitment to following safety protocols and promoting workplace safety.

Knowledge

  • Good understanding of Fleet Management & Maintenance Procedures, licensing and inspection of light-duty equipment, and all transport duties.
  • Working knowledge of road traffic regulations in Ghana and standards
