The service of an FSN Security Investigator at the US Embassy.
Duties:
- Performs all responsibilities delegated to Post’s Foreign Service National Investigator’s Program in primary support of transiting Department of Defense (DoD) personnel, resources, and FPD’s mission.
- Carries out liaison functions with host nation governments and military officials, to include but not limited to, the various host nation security services on FPD related issues including, but not limited to, all law enforcement and legal matters such as traffic accidents, thefts, personal injuries, etc.
- You will also serve as the principal advisor to the FPD on host nation civil, criminal, counterterrorism, security service matters, along with any bilateral exchanges.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of law enforcement, military, customs, private security, or other host nation security service experience is required.
- Must have broad expertise in criminal/security/administrative investigations and/or security/military operations.
- Must also have acquired continuous follow-on security, military/law enforcement/customs/security training at an established host nation government training institution, to include but not limited to, training in criminal/security investigation.
Education Requirements:
- Mandatory: Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Law Enforcement, Military Science, Criminology or Law is required

Evaluations:
- LANGUAGE: Mandatory: Fluent English (Speaking, Reading and Writing) is required.
- Good working knowledge in French (Speaking, Reading and writing is required) Language proficiency may be tested.

Skills And Abilities:
- Must be capable of making sound, mission critical, direct, independent decisions directly affecting personnel and resources.
- With proper guidance, must be capable of making appropriate decisions with host country security counterparts in liaison situations involving the evolving security situation, security operations, investigative issues, and other subjects.

- This position will require the incumbent to be involved with all Department of Defense (DoD) VIP/ship visits to Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Cote d’Ivoire; therefore, frequent travel is anticipated. Must be able to use Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook and other computer-based applications.
- Must be able to handle heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds) on a regular basis and must possess a valid local and/or international driver’s license is required. (Computer and driving skills may be tested)
Salary: USD $19,476 – USD $19,476 /Per Year
