Job Description
- Report to: Procurement Officer
- Locations: Kumasi, Ghana
Premier Poultry Limited is seeking a highly motivated and disciplined individual as intern with a passion for improving the lives of smallholder farmers. The intern will work closely with the Procurement Officer in the Operations Department, and he/she will be assisting the Procurement officer in all purchases of materials and services needed in the organization, taking into consideration the cost implication and quality of product to be purchase as well as maintain inventory based on the local demand.

Job Responsibilities
ASSIST the Procurement Officer in executing Below activities;
- Evaluating supplier quotes and select based on quality, cost and speed of delivery.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure deliveries are made according to agreed supplier lead times.
- Follow up and solve any existing and underlying supplier issues, including payment.
- Liaising with user departments on their requirement & specifications.
- Ensuring end to end order tracking from product ordering to delivery.
- Ensuring timely receipt of invoices and waybill of deliveries from vendors.
- Submitting invoices together with all relevant documents for necessary approvals and payment processing.
- Follow up with Accounts payable to ensure prompt supplier payment based on agreed payment terms
Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/HND in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field.
- Between Six (6) months – One (1) year experience in similar role.
Skills and Competences
- Strong social skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Skills in data analysis, logistics, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in MS office suite with advanced level of MS Excel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Self-starter and able to work in an environment with ambiguity and tight timelines.
- Proven analytical, problem-solving skills and solution oriented
- Demonstrated competency in management of resources.
- Ability to work in a cross-cultural and cross-functional environment.
- Relevant qualification and/or extensive experience in Logistics/ Procurement
- Good knowledge of local purchases and sales
- Ability to work under pressure and meet competing deadlines
- Possessing excellent negotiation skills
- The nature of the job requires frequent consultation with the immediate supervisor
