The Position (History Teacher At ICS Ghana)
The school is seeking to recruit a well experienced High School History Teacher who will be responsible for delivering high quality teaching, through planning engaging lessons to enable all students make the best possible progress.
He/She must be able to demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and communicate this in an enthusiastic and imaginative way. In addition, He/She will be expected to contribute to the routine and extra-curricular life of the school, as well as that of the department.

Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Principal and Head of School, the candidate will be tasked with the following responsibilities.
- Planning and preparing well-structured, clearly presented lessons based on the syllabus being taught and appropriate to the abilities of all students.
- Making sure that the classroom is a stimulating environment that facilitates learning
- Generating enthusiasm for the History subject being taught and inspire all students to work to their full potential

- Delivering engaging History lessons on different time periods, movements, and other historical events and figures.
- Keeping abreast of current events/movements and using these themes to keep historical content relevant.
- Collaborating with fellow teachers and learning from their methods, teaching strategies, and classroom management techniques.
- Using digital technology to improve learning and keep accurate student records
- Providing extra support to struggling students and additional resources to those who display exceptional interest in History.
- Grading exams, tests, quizzes, assignments, and presentations, and contacting parents and other faculty members to discuss concerns and schedule interventions.

Qualification, Skills, And Abilities:
- A Bachelor’s degree in History Education. A master’s degree is preferable with at least 3 years teaching experience with the Cambridge Curriculum for History.
- A relevant certification or license required
- Develops and presents lessons that demonstrate planning and preparation and are consistent with the Cambridge Curriculum for History
- A passion for History and the ability to inspire students

- Uses a variety of instructional techniques and materials, which are appropriate to meet the needs of all students and understands the value of differentiating instruction
- Actively participates in professional development opportunities and collaborates with personnel and peers for the purposes of improving the quality of student outcomes and planning curriculum in science
