ISODEC has a new job opportunity available. The rights-based public policy research and advocacy organisation is seeking Policy Analyst (Illicit Financial Flows & Corruption).

Job summary:

The Policy Analyst (Illicit Financial Flows & Corruption) is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of ISODEC’s policy initiatives and programmatic activities related to Illicit Financial Flows and Corruption. This role is a key member of the Organization’s leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and ensuring the effective delivery of ISODEC’s mission and objectives. She/ He is responsible for shaping and driving our work in Illicit Financial Flows and Corruption to ensure ISODEC is a learning organization, continually improving its work, understanding and communicating its impact, and influencing the wider national and regional development sector in Ghana and West Africa.  

Key Responsibilities

Policy Development and Advocacy:

  1. Provide strategic leadership and direction in developing ISODEC’s research and advocacy agenda on illicit Financial Flows and corruption
  2. Overseeing the research, analysis and policy development work of consultants, policy analysis teams and interns
  3. Developing policy briefs, reports, and other knowledge products go inform and influence policy making
  4. Engaging with high-level policy makers, government officials, and other keys stakeholders to influence policy and legislative reforms
  5. Representing ISODEC in national and international forums, conferences and meetings related to FFs and Corruption
  6. Securing funding and managing programmes and projects related to illicit financial flows and corruption.
  7. Fostering collaboration and partnerships with other civil society organizations, research institutions and international organizations
  8. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of policies and interventions aimed at addressing illicit financial flows and corruption
  9. Design and implement related programmes and projects in IFFs and Corruption related issues; ensuring quality monitoring and timely reporting to ISODEC and Donors
  10. Providing technical support and capacity building to ISODEC Staff, interns and volunteers on these thematic areas.  
  11. Ensure the publication and dissemination of high-quality research and policy briefs in ISODEC’s website and all social media handles regarding focus of work.
  12. Engage the media and other stakeholders and present ISODEC’s position on IFFs and Corruption related issues in Ghana.
OTHER RECENT VACANCIES:

Required Skills or Experience

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant field such as public policy, development studies, or Social Sciences
  • At least 7 years’ experience in policy development, advocacy and Programme management, preferably in Illicit Financial Flows & Corruption.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; including the ability to draw on complex theoretical concepts, translating and integrating these into practitioner friendly resources. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in policy research, analysis and advocacy, with a strong understating of national and international development issues related to Illicit Financial Flows and related issues.
  • Proven track record in successful design, implementation and evaluation of development programmes and projects.
  • Creative, strategic and lateral thinker able to combine big picture thinking with practical application and link Programme design with policy and advocacy 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders at different levels.
  • Strong leadership, cross- organizational coordination and relationship management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Proficient in the use of data analysis and project management tools.
