Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd. (“AGGL”) is a joint venture between Galiano Gold Inc. and Gold Fields. The primary asset is the Multi-Pit Asanko Gold Mine complex, located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Galiano Gold Inc. are the managers and operators of the Asanko Gold Mine.

Job Description

A vacancy exists in our Mining Department for the position of: MINE DISPATCHER

JOB PURPOSE

Dispatching and coordinating mining operations to ensure optimal efficiency and safety by communicating orders to various mining teams to ensure successful operation on the mine site.

MUST READ:

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize schedule and dispatch equipment according to requests, specifications or needs;
  • Contribute to the design and development of Dispatch processes;
  • Capture, validate, and record mining and haulage equipment data during shifts and production reports;
  • Record and report of significant information or events;
  • Running reports and analyzing data to make recommendations to improve productivity;
  • Implement control and mitigation actions through interventions to maintain and or improve performance;
  • Address dispatch and fleet failures as swiftly as possible;
  • Liaise positively with other groups including Engineering, Process, Geology, Mine Operations, Mine Planning, IT, Mining and Haulage contractors etc. to verify the accuracy of stated events and duration durations and correlate this to information captured;
  • Analyze and provide data for short -term and long-term planning, Mine Operations, Mine Maintenance and Geology;
  • Identify potential system performance improvements, cost savings and communicate to management;
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors in accordance with Asanko Policies.

Required Skills or Experience

Knowledge

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or any relevant qualification from a recognized tertiary institution;
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years post-qualification experience in a similar role in the mining or related industry;
  • Sound knowledge and experience of risk management and loss prevention processes;
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong computer literacy skills – MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook); 
  • Sound information monitoring and management skills;
  • Sound planning, organizing and prioritizing skills;
