About Eco-Me Africa 

Eco-Me Africa is a rapidly expanding social enterprise dedicated to empowering women, enhancing menstrual health, and advocating for sustainable, environmentally friendly products. Our main brand, EcoPeriod, offers reusable menstrual pads and various sustainable products, addressing period poverty and promoting environmental change throughout Ghana and beyond.

As we expand, we are in search of a dynamic and forward-thinking Director of Marketing & Business Development to oversee Sales and Marketing, enhance Strategic Partnerships, and lead Digital Marketing & Communications to advance our mission and boost business growth.

Summary of Role 

We seek a highly strategic, results-oriented, and creative leader to manage our sales and marketing activities, partnership growth, and digital communication strategy. This position will be crucial in growing Eco-Me Africa’s clientele, establishing valuable partnerships, and boosting brand awareness through creative marketing tactics. The Director will collaborate closely with the CEO and various teams to increase revenue, enhance brand positioning, and broaden market presence throughout Ghana and West Africa.

Main Duties

Sales and Marketing Approach 

  • Create and implement an all-encompassing sales and marketing plan to enhance brand visibility, boost customer growth, and optimize revenue.
  • Recognize fresh markets, customer groups, and creative sales avenues to enhance B2B, B2G, and B2C sales.
  • Set up and Manage the performance of the Eco-Diva sales representatives, making sure they possess the tools, training, and drive to enhance grassroots sales and community involvement.
  • Create marketing campaigns based on data, incorporating both digital and traditional methods, to enhance customer involvement and boost brand awareness.
  • Oversee sales performance, measure KPIs, and enhance strategies for steady growth.

Development of Strategic Partnerships 

  • Recognize and foster collaborations with companies, non-profits, governmental bodies, retail suppliers, and development entities.
  • Spearheaded the creation and implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) collaborations, facilitating large-scale sales and donation-driven activities.
  • Negotiate and establish strategic partnerships that align with Eco-Me Africa’s mission, guaranteeing lasting growth and sustainable influence.
  • Present Eco-Me Africa at conferences, trade shows, and industry events to broaden our network and draw in funding opportunities.

Digital Promotion & Communication 

  • Create and implement a strong digital marketing plan utilizing social media, SEO, content marketing, and paid ads to enhance brand recognition and attract new customers.
  • Manage the development of content for the website, blogs, email initiatives, and social media channels to improve brand narratives and interaction.
  • Oversee public relations and media engagement, establishing Eco-Me Africa as a prominent authority in sustainability, menstrual health, and social entrepreneurship.
  • Utilize performance marketing strategies (Google Ads, social media advertisements, influencer partnerships) to optimize ROI on online campaigns.
  • Utilize analytical tools to monitor, assess, and enhance marketing activities, guaranteeing elevated engagement and conversion levels.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Management, Communication, or a similar discipline.
  • Over 5 years of leadership experience in sales, marketing, business development, or partnerships, ideally within FMCG, social enterprises, or organizations emphasizing sustainability.
  • Demonstrated a history of creating and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies with quantifiable results.
  • Expertise in digital marketing, performance marketing, and content strategy to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
  • Robust connections and expertise in establishing strategic alliances with corporate entities, non-governmental organizations, and governmental agencies.
  • Outstanding leadership, negotiation, and public speaking abilities, capable of representing Eco-Me Africa at high-profile meetings and conferences.
  • Expertise in data analysis, CRM software, and marketing analytics platforms to assess campaign efficiency and sales increase.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with sustainability, menstrual health, or consumer goods sectors is advantageous.
