IPA Ghana seeks a Human Resources Associate to provide in-country support in the implementation and administration of Human Resource policies and procedures in the Ghana country office. The HR Associate will report to the Associate Operations Manager and will oversee activities related to recruitment, onboarding, off-boarding, employment contract renewals, performance evaluation, compliance and employee documentation, timesheet administration, management of the human resource information system (HRIS) and oversee benefit administration.

Position Summary
The Human Resources Associate will report to the Associate Operations Manager and will perform the following responsibilities:
- Recruitment and Selection – Coordinate the recruitment and selection of employees and consultants;
- Onboarding – Coordinate the onboarding and induction process of all new hires. Collaborate with IPA’s Talent Team and hiring managers to ensure new joiners receive a high-quality onboarding experience.
- Employee record management – Manage the employee database ensuring regular update of employee records and proper storage of employee and consultant documents;
- Contracting – Coordinate with country office management to extend and renew contracts of employees, Collaborate with the Research Quality team and Project teams to facilitate the preparation and management of field enumerator contracts
- Performance Management – Coordinate probationary reviews, annual performance reviews, and annual performance planning for employees

- Timesheet system management: Manage the system for local staff with regards to timesheets and time off updates.
- Training & Development: Coordinate with department heads, projects and research quality teams to oversee training and development initiatives. Support IPA’s commitment to valuing and investing in professional development for staff.
- Employee engagement initiatives: Oversee initiatives related to staff morale and well-being;
- Benefits Administration: Oversee benefits enrollment process, maintaining accurate records of employee benefits, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, maintaining accurate records of employee benefits, updating information as needed and overseeing annual reviews and renewals.
- Workmen’s compensation coverage: Manage the enrollment of eligible field enumerators onto the workmen’s compensation cover, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
- Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations, ensure adherence to local laws, regulations, and employee handbook
- Administrative support: Provide administrative support to the Operations department and Country Director, including but not limited to managing schedules, coordinating meetings, retreats, handling correspondence, and assisting with general administrative tasks.
- Work with the Associate Operations Manager to create and continuously improve HR systems, tools and policies;

Required Skills or Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field.
- At least 2 years of working experience in a similar position
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a diverse team
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- General knowledge of the Ghana labour laws
- Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality
- High comfort level with using technology to support work
- Attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Willingness to learn
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines, often with limited supervision
- Excellent management, communication and organizational skills, and ability to work independently
- Experience performing a similar role in an international NGO is a plus
