Preamble/Justification

Two Junior Consultants will be needed to backstop the country team on activities in the Tamanaa and Rockland partnerships. This is to provide additional support to the substantive advisors to push activity completion towards the exit of the partnerships in 2024. Thus, to complete activities in the PPP under light intensity support, the country team proposes the engagement of two Junior Consultants one each to support activities in the Tamanaa and Rockland partnerships towards exit in 2024.

Summary of the Position

The Junior Consultants will support the 2SCALE country team in the implementation of activities in the Tamanaa and Rockland partnerships. When relevant, they will support 2SCALE technical specialists (e.g., in financial inclusion, women economic empowerment, youth inclusion, climate-smart agriculture), to conduct desk research, fine-tune and facilitate the integration of gender related activities in thematic-related strategies in the PPPs. The Junior Consultant’s primary role will however be to support in the direct implementation of program activities in the partnerships.

Responsibilities and tasks:

• Support IAAs activities in the Tamanaa and Rockland partnerships.
• Support the 2SCALE country team in desk research, collecting and analysing market and industry information related to anticipated and existing PPPs.
• Support Mobilization of actors around target agribusiness clusters and value chains.
• Support Training activities of BSS in agribusiness clusters.
• Profiling/ assessments of agribusiness cluster and value chain actors for development indicators.
• Support capacity building (technical, organizational) and empowerment programs for women and youth (men and women).
• Linkage of value chain actors to finance and other production support services.
• Monitor and document the progress of the PPPs in line with:
  • PPP key performance indicators and markers for change.
  • PPP action plans and cost-shared budgets.
• Support IAAs to write and submit timely activity reports, as well as other technical reports.

• Identify cases and write blogs for the Tamanaa and Rockland partnerships.
• Support the linkage of VSLAs to financial institutions.
• Support green innovation activities in all partnerships.
• Support M&E data gathering.
  • M&E Evidence gathering.
  • Akvo data collation.
• Any other activity that may be assigned by the country team.
• Support the training of VSLAs in the introduction of the chomoka app.

Required Skills or Experience

• Education: BSc/BA: Agriculture, Development Studies, and other related fields.
• Work experience: 2-3 years
