Job Description

Job Purpose
To coordinate and provide shift direction to the mine contractor on operational activities of the mine crew in the open pit area, ensuring that contractors adhere to safety standards, follow operational protocols, and meet production targets.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with mining contractors to guarantee compliance with project requirements, safety specifications, and output targets.
- Monitor and evaluate contractor performance to ensure adherence to project timelines and production targets.
- Coordinate with contractors to effectively manage resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, within budgetary constraints.
- Provide regular progress reports to upper management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and proposed solutions.
- Communicate project goals, expectations, and any plan modifications to contractors openly and transparently.
- Collaborate with contractors to optimize mining processes, equipment usage, and material transportation.
- Conduct regular inspections to assess the quality of work and provide feedback for improvement.

- Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure that mining activities meet specified standards and contractual obligations.

Required Skills or Experience
Minimum qualification (s)
- BSc in Mining Engineering or relevant discipline.
- Proven experience in mining operations, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role focused on contractor management.
- Minerals Commission Forman or Mine Captain Certificate of Competency.
- Valid Ghanaian Driver’s License (minimum license B)

Experience (Minimum)
