Job Title: Production Assistant – Chocolate Manufacturing Company

Location: Koforidua, Eastern Region, Ghana / On-site

Role Overview:

As a Production Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the production process at our manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of chocolate production, ensuring that products are made to the highest quality standards, and that production schedules are met. This role requires on-site presence to collaborate closely with the production team and ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Support: Assist in the preparation, production, and packaging of chocolate products, following established procedures and recipes to maintain consistency and quality.
Quality Control: Monitor and inspect products throughout the production process to ensure they meet our stringent quality standards. Report any issues or defects to the production supervisor.
Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain production equipment, ensuring that machines are functioning properly and safely. Assist with cleaning and sanitation of equipment to maintain a hygienic production environment.
Inventory Management: Help manage raw materials and supplies, ensuring that inventory levels are maintained and that materials are stored properly. Assist with the receiving and storage of ingredients and packaging materials.
Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with other production team members to ensure that production goals are met. Communicate any production challenges or needs to the production supervisor.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality. Provide feedback and suggestions for improving processes and equipment usage.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements:

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is required.
Experience: Previous experience in a food manufacturing or production environment is preferred. A strong willingness to learn and adapt to the production process is essential.
Technical Skills: Basic understanding of food production equipment and machinery is an advantage. Ability to learn and operate machinery safely and efficiently.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, particularly in quality control and production processes.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Team Player: Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Location: Ability to work on-site in Koforidua, Eastern Region is required.

Nice to Have:

Previous experience in chocolate or confectionery production.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
Basic knowledge of inventory management systems.
