JOB PURPOSE

The Boilermaker/Fabricator will be responsible to illustrate Standards and methods for fabricating and welding of objects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Weld materials using approved blueprints and Specifications.
• Undertake quality control measure by checking finished work to confirm it falls within the specification on the blueprint.
• Repair and design of chutes, pipes, tanks, structures, and launders.
• Ensure that all parts are properly fitted, aligned, and screwed in.
• Inspect and repair or install boiler fittings and fabricate other structures.
• Adhere to safety standards in accordance with Company policy and practice.
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Required Skills or Experience

Knowledge

• Must have Advance Welding and Fabrication certificate or relevant trade certificate from a recognized institution.
• Minerals Commission of Ghana Technician Engineering Certification will be an added advantage.
• Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in similar Boilermaker/Fabricator role preferably in a mining or manufacturing company.
• Must have an in-depth understanding and working knowledge required in:
• Mill and crusher maintenance.
• Conveyor chute and structures maintenance
• Pipe, chute, tank design and fabrication
• Manual and mechanical welding techniques
• Welding techniques, including arc, and oxy-fuel welding, plasma cutting.

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Strong Analytical Skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints;
• Ability to apply knowledge of standards, methods and procedures to work situation;
• Ability to train and mentor team members and demonstrate safety leadership;
• Ability to perform field work in an extreme mining environment.
• Ability to drive in a rough terrain and must possess a clean Ghanaian Driver License;
