Here is a new job vacancy at ISODEC. The rights-based public policy research and advocacy organisation is seeking Head of Finance, Himan Resource and Administration.

Job Summary:

The Head of Finance, Himan Resource and Administration is a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) at ISODEC. This role overseas financial management, human resource functions, and administrative operations of the organization. Then individual in his position is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of ISODEC’s resources, as well as the development and implementation of policies and procedures to support the delivery of the organizations strategic goals.

Job Description

  • Reports to: Executive Director
  • Location: Accra, Ghana

Key Responsibilities

Finance:

  1. Oversee the financial management of the organization, including budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and financial controls.
  2. Manage the accounting team and ensure accurate and timely financial records and reporting.
  3. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and all donor requirements.
  4. Liaise with external auditors and provide support during audit process.
  5. Assist the Executive Director in financial decision-making and strategic planning
  6. Ensure timely submission of donor financial reports; ensuring compliance issues are followed at all times.
  7. Support resource mobilization efforts of the organization including using the social enterprise models that can generate income for the organization.    

Human Resources:

  1. Develop and oversee then implementation of HR policies and procedures, and practices that support the organization’s objectives.
  2. Manage staff placement and recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and staff development in ISODEC
  3. Ensure compliance with Ghana labour Laws and Regulations.
  4. Design, manage and regularly update the salary structure in consultation with the ED and Board.  
  5. Oversee the administration of employee benefits, including payroll, leave, and social security and other statutory obligations
  6. Promote a positive and inclusive work culture that supports employee engagement and development
  7.  Responsible for Team building including organizing staff catch-up meetings, regular staff quarterly meetings etc.
  8. Directly manage Finance and Administrative staff in the organization.

Administration:

  1. Manage the organization’s administrative functions, including operations, procurement and facilities management
  2. Develop and implement policies ad procedures to ensure the efficient and effective use of ISODEC’s resources.
  3. Oversee the management of the organization’s assets, including fleet, IT Systems and equipment, properties, etc.
  4. Ensure the organization’s compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to administration and operations.
OTHER RECENT VACANCIES:

Required Skills or Experience

  • Preferably Female
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field. Professional qualification in accounting and/or Human Resource is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a Senior Finance, HR or Administrative role, preferably in a non-profit od development sector.
  • Knowledge of the use of financial software; especially QuickBooks and Peoplesoft
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, and financial reporting, and multiple donor contract management.
  • Strong knowledge of human resource management, including HR policies, employee relations and Ghana labor laws.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
