Duties:
- Ensures provision of reliable and safe/secure driving services of authorized passengers while focusing on achievement of the following results:
- Safely drive UNDP vehicles for the transport of authorized passengers whenever required.
- Meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport, visa and customs formalities and arrangements when required.
- Local traffic rules and regulations are strictly observed.
- Ensures instructions and security guidance provided by the supervisor and security focal point are strictly followed by the Driver and the passengers during the journey.

- Ensures cost-saving through the proper use of the vehicle by accurately maintaining daily vehicle logs, providing inputs to the preparation of vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
- Ensures proper day-to-day proper maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tyres, brakes, car washing etc.
- Ensures availability of all the required documents / supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city / country, first aid kit, necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle.
- Ensures that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.

Required Skills and Experience For UNDP Ghana’s Driving Career
Education:
- Completion of Secondary School Education
- Valid Driver’s License (B)
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ work experience as a driver in an international institution, governmental organization, embassy or UN system.
- Additional work experience is considered as an asset.
- Knowledge of Ghana driving rules and regulations.
- Skills in minor vehicle repairs.
- Driving experience with the UN system or any international organization will be an advantage.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Safe/Clean driving records with no major traffic violations or accidents.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation and electronic logging devices.
- Ability to conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance tasks, such as checking tire pressure and oil levels.
