Job Summary:
The Warehouse Team Lead will oversee the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure efficient and effective handling of products, materials, and inventory. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse management, a strong understanding of inventory control, and the ability to lead and motivate a team. This role is critical in ensuring that all warehouse activities run smoothly, meeting production and customer delivery schedules in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse staff, including assigning tasks and monitoring performance
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, encouraging continuous improvement and employee engagement
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures
Warehouse Operations:
- Oversee the receiving, storage, and distribution of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
- Coordinate with production and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and products
- Manage inventory levels, including cycle counts, stock rotation, and reordering processes
Quality Control:
- Ensure all products are stored and handled according to food safety standards and company guidelines
- Monitor and report on quality issues, including damaged goods and discrepancies in inventory
- Implement and maintain FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices
Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvements and work with management to implement solutions that enhance efficiency
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to streamline operations and improve accuracy
- Develop and enforce productivity metrics to ensure warehouse operations meet or exceed targets
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure the warehouse operates in a safe manner, with all safety protocols strictly followed
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to maintain a safe working environment
- Stay up to date with food safety regulations and implement changes as necessary
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and warehouse activities
- Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse performance, including KPIs
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve issues and provide updates on warehouse status

Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Experience in the food production industry is a strong plus
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Ability to work in a cold or refrigerated environment as required
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced warehouse environment with a focus on meeting production and delivery deadlines
- Regular interaction with production, logistics, and quality control teams
- May require occasional overtime and weekend work depending on production schedules
