As Port Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of port operations related to the import and export of agricultural products. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods through the port facility, coordinating with various stakeholders, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. This position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational management skills to optimize port operations and support the company’s supply chain objectives.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, maritime studies, supply chain management, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in port operations management, preferably within the agriculture industry
- Excellent worldwide geographical knowledge
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all activities related to port operations, including vessel scheduling, cargo handling, and port logistics
- Ensure adherence to operational procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements always
- Collaborate closely with shipping agents, port authorities, customs officials, and other stakeholders to coordinate port activities and resolve operational issues promptly
- Maintain effective communication channels to facilitate smooth interactions and address any challenges that may arise during port operations
- Monitor the movement of agricultural products through the port facility, from loading onto vessels to unloading at the destination
- Implement robust cargo tracking systems to ensure real-time visibility and accountability throughout the transportation process
- Enforce strict quality control measures to safeguard the integrity and condition of agricultural products during transit and storage
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including customs regulations, import/export laws, and health and safety standards
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of port operations
- Regularly monitor operational performance, analyze KPI data, and prepare comprehensive reports for management review
- Identify opportunities to streamline port operations and enhance efficiency through process improvements and technology integration
- Implement best practices for cargo handling, storage, and inventory management to minimize delays and optimize resource utilization
