The Position (Science And Maths Teacher At At ICS Ghana)
They are seeking to recruit a visionary, creative and experienced teacher with a track record of leadership and sound judgement who will plan instruction, teach, differentiate instruction, motivate, inspire and assess students in the primary school Science subject.
The candidate should be in a position to ensure a high quality, personalized education program that reflects the Cambridge Curriculum Standards Science to include an understanding of physical science.

Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Principal and Head of School, the candidate will be tasked with the following responsibilities.
- Organizes classroom systems/procedures and manages student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged in learning
- Establishes a culture of high expectations and discipline
- Develops and implements lesson plans and classroom activities consistent with Cambridge Standards

- Assesses students regularly in accordance with the school’s guidelines, examines student assessment data and continuously improve classroom activities to the general understanding of each student
- Actively participates in professional development activities, including: training sessions and working with principal and instructional coaches
- Provides students and their families with regular and timely information on classroom activities and student progress; finds ways to involve parents/guardian in their students’ education
- Identifies unique student needs and collaborates with other team members and outside service providers to diagnose and address learning challenges

- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Qualification, Skills And Abilities:
- Science / BSc. Biological Science with at least 3 years teaching experience with the Cambridge Curriculum
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of methods, materials and techniques used to teach science instruction for year 4-6
- Develops and presents lessons that demonstrate planning and preparation and are consistent with the Cambridge Curriculum for Science

- Uses a variety of instructional techniques and materials, which are appropriate to meet the needs of all students and understands the value of differentiating instruction
- Assesses students’ learning skills for the purposes of refining classroom activities and providing feedback to students, parents and administrations regarding students’ progress, expectations and goals
- Actively participates in professional development opportunities and collaborates with personnel and peers for the purposes of improving the quality of student outcomes and planning curriculum in science
- Maintains a high level of awareness regarding research and recent developments on programs that will benefit primary school students in science
- Conducts regular assessment of student performance and maintains record-keeping through the school’s technology-based grading system
- Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
- Demonstrates knowledge of and supports the ICS mission, vision and value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards and the code of ethical behavior
