Where is KNUST located?

In Ghana’s Ashanti Region, in Kumasi, Garden City, is where KNUST is situated.
People residing in and near Kumasi can access Tech. Junction, a significant station situated just outside the institution’s main gate, as their initial access point to Ghana’s top university.

One can board any private or commercial vehicle and go to Tech Junction from any location within and around the city. Outside of Kumasi, one can get to Kumasi by car or by catching a bus headed there and then finding Tech. Junction to get to KNUST.From the Tech Junction, there are numerous routes you can take to reach your destination on campus.

Everyone has an easy time navigating the KNUST campus. One can find numerous ways to board a car to come to campus when they arrive at Tech Junction, the primary transportation hub just outside the main gate of this prominent university. The first choice is to enter campus using a private vehicle through any of our gates. On the main KNUST campus, private automobiles are welcome without any restrictions.

Locate our transport shuttles and officially designated campus taxi cabs, which are the only commercial vehicle types permitted into the main campus for security reasons.
Third, if you choose to walk, you can do so directly to and through any area of campus.

The final option is to board any commercial vehicle travelling through campus and get off at Continental Roundabout before continuing on to Ayeduase New Site, Kotei surroundings.
To get to your preferred location using these choices, however, you will need to either walk or get on a commercial vehicle that is registered on campus.

NB: Commercial vehicles APART from KNUST shuttles and KNUST-registered and stamped taxis are NOT ALLOWED to enter the main campus area.

The cost of transportation varies depending on the distance to Kumasi and the type of vehicle available from various cities, towns, and villages. Bus transportation from Accra to Kumasi ranges in price from GHC 80.00 to GHC 105 for minibuses, big and small Yutong buses, STC, and VIP buses. To find out how much it will cost to go from your current position to Kumasi, check the prices at different stations.

It cost 3 cedis to take a shuttle or a commercially registered, KNUST-embossed cab from Tech Junction to the main campus. It costs 2 cedis to take a “trotro” from Tech. Junction to various portions of campus before continuing on to the main campus by other means.

Chattered taxis, on the other hand, have different fare charges depending on where one boards the vehicle.

Please keep in mind that transportation costs for chattered vehicles may vary. For instance, the cost of transportation from the campus to the town or market in Kumasi for registered members may range from GHC 20 to GHC 30.
