List of Accredited Programs in KNUST
Over 600 academic programmes at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and the University of Ghana were not accredited. The Auditor General report for 2021 states that the accreditation of the schools “expired or required re-accreditation during the period under evaluation.”
“Out of the 360 programmes offered by the University, only 61 have been accredited,” the report’s findings reveal. “190 have been referred to the National Accreditation Board (NAB) for accreditation and re-accreditation, and 109 have not yet been forwarded to NAB for accreditation.”
The Auditor-General has therefore “recommended to Management to discontinue conducting programmes that are not accredited or have had their accredited certifications expire, unless they are accredited or reissued,” in order to prevent NAB repercussions.

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) requested that KNUST “liaise with them to take retroactive accreditations to cover all the non-accredited certificates issued to students.”
According to KNUST URO, the Public Account Committee studied the Auditor General’s report in great detail on July 21, 2021, and management addressed all of the concerns raised.
All the needed documents have been submitted for approval.
