Why Game Shopping Center at Accra Mall is Closing Down
This is because the company’s owners, Massmart Holdings, are planning to close operations in several African countries.
This follows Mass Mart’s earlier announcement that it would liquidate eight unprofitable stores in Africa.
According to GhNewBanQ news sources, the multi-national business operator has unable to find buyers and investors for the assets, resulting in the closure.

Game shops have been open in Ghana for nearly six years, providing residents with places to purchase for everything from home goods to appliances.
Massmart said in 2021 that it will sell 14 Game stores in Africa in order to reduce losses in the faltering business. The decision comes after Africa’s second-largest consumer products distributor announced a narrow half-year in 2021.
As of October 5, the holding had not yet overcome its instability and hampered customer demand.
Game stores can be found in Ghana’s four largest shopping malls: Accra Mall, Kumasi Mall, Achimota Mall, and West Hills Mall. However, a recent visit to Accra Mall revealed that the shop has issued a notice of closure. Although the shop was open, it offered discounts to clear out its inventory before the end of the year.
