Ken Ofori-Atta to appear before censure committee today.
The Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, is expected to appear before the eight-member ad-hoc committee of Parliament probing a censure motion against him today, Friday.
The Minority in Parliament submitted a motion for a vote of censure against Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, stating seven accusations against him, including conflict of interest, financial irresponsibility that caused the Ghana cedi to collapse, and egregious economic mismanagement.
Prior to the hearing, the minister made a formal request for more information and greater details regarding the motion’s justifications, while also voicing concerns about the committee’s authority.
The legal representative for the Minister under fire, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, informed the Committee after the first day of the hearing that his client would be prepared with the responses today. The minority had already revealed the reasons for the censure.

This was followed by the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) appearing before the committee on Thursday.
