Many users and customers of ECG have complained they are still unable to buy ECG prepaid credit.
According to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), problems with the prepaid metering system’s vending machines have been resolved.
In a press release on October 1, the power distribution company stated that customers who had been unable to acquire electricity credits will be able to do so starting on October 2 at various vending locations.
However, according on the comments left by numerous users on social media, it appears that this ECG issue is still not totally rectified as they have expressed frustration about the inability to continue purchase prepaid credits.

Some users have claimed that they are still unable to purchase electrical credit as of 9am Sunday morning. This was so persistent that ultimately some vending machines closed.
“Network difficulty” was cited as the explanation by the vendors.

Prepaid metre credit purchases through the ECG app or vending machines have been extremely difficult for the past six days since users cannot buy the credits for electricity.
Some of the affected customers were left stranded, which caused some businesses to suffer. For many, there were no lights, leaving them with little choice but to go to bed in the dark.

Some organisations and enterprises have suffered as a result, and some consumers are now trapped.
It’s not cool that many people had to sleep without electricity. Later, it was asserted that their database might have been hacked, but the ECG has not yet responded to that claim.
