The West African Examination Council has released the provisional results for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private applicants, which was taken by 43,742 students in 2022. (WAEC).
20,164 males and 23,578 females registered, according to WAEC. Of the applicants, 66 had visual impairments and two had hearing problems.
The results of 901 candidates alleged to have been involved in various cases of examination malpractice have been withheld pending the conclusion of investigations into the cases of malpractice. These malpractices include bringing foreign materials and mobile phones into the examination hall, impersonation, collusion, seeking external assistance among others.
The withheld results of candidates will be released or cancelled based on the outcome of investigations. The results are available online at www.waecgh.org.

The Council issued a warning to the general public advising them to watch out for con artists who may contact students via mobile messaging applications and promise to raise their grades in exchange for a price paid via mobile money transfers. Candidates can check their results via this guide.
