We’ve been Prevented from screening the Galamsey exposé at AICC – Anas’ Tiger Eye P.I

Tiger Eye P.I. claims it has been prevented from screening its new investigative piece on illegal mining, dubbed “Galamsey Economy,” at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) with just 24 hours left before the public screening.

This is due to the investigative media company’s inability to use the AICC, which was the intended location, despite having paid the fee that was abruptly raised by around 30%.

The investigation work was scheduled to be presented for the first time by Anas Aremyaw Anas’ Tiger Eye P.I. team on November 14 and 15 at the International Conference Center in Accra.

The documentary explores allegations of bribery, corruption, and crimes related to corruption in Ghana’s campaign against galamsey, or illicit mining.

But in a statement, Tiger Eye P.I. said, “management of AICC informed Tiger Eye through our agent on Saturday, 12 November 2022, that the venue is no longer available for use on the said dates.”

“Tiger Eye has already fulfilled every requirement of AICC to use the place including payment for the venue despite last minute change in cost by about per cent (30%)”, the release continued.

The press release was announced on a Twitter thread on November 13, 2022. They also apologised to the public for the inconvenience of the change in venue. And also, their agent is securing another auditorium and will update the public soon on the new venue.

In addition, all tickets already sold are valid for the new venue. The release ended.
