The GETFund Local Scholarship Application Portal for the 2023/2024 academic year is now open!
The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) is accepting applications for Undergraduate (Diploma, HND & Degree Programmes) and Postgraduate (Masters & PhD Programmes) for the award of Local scholarships for the 2023/2024 Academic Year.
List of scholarships For University Students in Ghana
Eligibility:
- All Ghanaian students looking to students undergraduate or postgraduate degrees are eligible
- The award is available to students who have applied to any local Universities accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Council to run Postgraduate and undergraduate courses.

- It is essential to gain admission into an accredited local tertiary institution before applying for the scholarship
- Continuing students can also apply for this award
Ineligibility:
The following leads to automatic disqualification:
- Failure to complete your application.
- Failure to submit a completed application.
- Submitting multiple applications.
- Not meeting the stated requirements for application.
- Discrepancies between uploaded documents and the information provided in the application form.
- Conflicting identities in the uploaded documents.
- Selecting incorrect schools.
- Choosing incorrect programmes.
- Submission of blurred documents.
- Failure to submit documents in the required format.

Documents Needed for GETFund Scholarship
Undergraduate Application Requirements
Applicants must upload the following documents to be considered for the GETFund Local Scholarship:
- Scanned copy of signed Application letter
- Scanned copy of proof of Nationality (Copy of Passport / National I.D Card)
- Admission letter clearly stating the program duration
- Approved Fee Schedule (2023/24 Academic Year)
- Secondary School Certificate results (WASSCE, CTVET, and any other certificate recognized by Ghana Tertiary Education Commission GTEC) (where applicable)
- Previous academic term transcripts for continuing students (where applicable)
- Previous Undergraduate Certificate (Degree, HND, Diploma) and corresponding transcript for applicants pursuing another Undergraduate certificate (Degree, HND) (where applicable)

GETFund Scholarship Postgraduate Application Requirements
- Scanned copy of signed Application letter
- Scanned copy of proof of Nationality (Copy of Passport / National I.D Card)
- Scanned copy of admission letter clearly stating the program duration in it
- Scanned copy of approved Fee Schedule (2023/24 Academic Year) – if not stated in the letter of admission
- Scanned copy of 1st degree certificate (Masters and PhD applicants)
- Scanned copy of other degree certificate (PhD applicants only)
- Scanned copy of previous transcript (Masters and PhD applicants only)
- Scanned copy of National Service Certificate where applicable (Masters and PhD applicants only)
- Copy of Curriculum Vitae (Masters and PhD applicants only).

- To apply, visit GETFund Local Scholarship application portal: https://scholarships.getfund.gov.gh/
- Scroll down and Click on CLICK HERE TO APPLY NOW
- Register an account.
- Start your application (save it in-progress)
- Submit your application to be reviewed.
- Ensure that the name used in registration correspond to that on your admission letter
- After registering or signing up, enter the username and password you used to register or sign up in order to login.
- Fill your GETFund Scholarship Application Form and Submit your application.
