Black Stars’ Christian Atsu Reportedly found dead after Turkey Earthquake

Black Stars’ Christian Atsu has been reportedly found dead under rubble following the Turkey earthquake.

Christian Atsu, a former player for Chelsea, Málaga, FC Porto, Newcastle United, and Hatayspor, died in the earthquake that rocked Turkey and Syria 11 days ago. Murat Uzunmehmet, his agent, confirmed the news on social media after his body was discovered under the wreckage. The death of Atsu rocked the sports world. At the 2013 and 2015 African Cup of Nations and the 2014 World Cup, he appeared in 65 games for Ghana.

Atsu, 31, has been playing for Hatayspor in Turkey. Atsu spent four seasons with Porto and Chelsea before being loaned out to Málaga in Spain. Before joining Hatayspor, he played in Saudi Arabia and scored one goal in three games.
