Both Addo and Hughton have been heavily linked with the Black Stars coaching role since the dismissal of Milovan Rajevac after a poor Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Cameroon, where Ghana finished bottom of their group.

Otto Addo (born June 9, 1975) is a scout and manager, as well as a former Ghanaian-German footballer who represented Ghana at the international level.

He is now Borussia Dortmund’s assistant manager.

Addo began his professional career in 1991 with Hamburger SV.

He joined neighboring Hamburg side VfL 93 Hamburg in 1993 following a year with Bramfelder SV, where he played 80 league appearances and scored four goals between 1993 and 1996.

Former Norwich City and Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton will serve as a new technical advisor to the new technical staff, assisting the Borussia Dortmund talent development coach.

Aston Villa under-23 manager George Boateng and Nordsjaelland coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani will also join the new Black Stars technical team as assistant coaches ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying play-off against Nigeria next month, according to the FA.

The four-man team has been put together to take charge of the two matches against rivals Nigeria. The Black Stars will take on the Super Eagles at the Cape Coast stadium on March 24th before traveling to Nigeria for the second leg at the Abuja Sports stadium on Sunday, March 27, 2022.

The Ghana Football Association Executive Council submitted the list, which is currently pending Ministry of Youth and Sports approval.

The decision was taken by the Executive Council of the GFA at a meeting held in Accra on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
